April 16, 2008
At approximately 0103 hrs, members
of PFD responded to the corner of Green Acre Dr. and Northwood Dr.
for the report of a structure fire. First arriving units reported
heavy fire involvement. E8 laid a 3" supply line from corner for
water supply. PD on scene stated it was an occupied dwelling but
unsure if the occupants were still inside or not. An interior search
of the residence revealed there was no one home. The home owner
arrived on scene as crews were doing salvage and overhaul
operations. The fire is under investigation by the Pulaski Fire
Marshal's office. REMSI medic 50 and PPD also responded to the
scene.

March 23, 2008
At approximately 0500 hrs, members
of PFD responded to the area of Highland Terrace for report of a
structure fire. First arriving unit on scene reported heavy fire
involvement.

January 29, 2008
At 1542 hrs., members of PFD
responded to the 700 block of East Main St. for report of a fire.
Initially, the call came in as a brush fire. B1 arrived on scene and
requested a 2nd alarm be issued for a structure fire. This sent 2
engines and an additional 16 firefighters to the scene to battle the
blaze and contained the fire to the origin inside the structure.
Chief 10 arrived on scene and assumed command. All fire units
cleared the scene at 1625 hrs. and were back in service by 1700hrs.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation by the Pulaski
Fire Marshal's office at the time of this report. The property was
the location of the old Allied Chemicals Plant.

November 16, 2007
At 1237 hours, 20 firefighters
from Pulaski responded to the bottom of Alum Spring Rd. at the
request of Dublin Fire Dept. for a structure fire. The house was
located in a field about a mile out a gravel road. First
firefighters arrived on scene and reported heavy fire involvement on
the 2nd floor of the structure, however, due to the remote
location, fire engines could not reach the scene. Brush trucks were
then called to the scene from Pulaski, Dublin and Draper fire depts.
Dublin Asst. Chief 203 and Pulaski C-3 established a unified command
for the scene. Dublin E-203 stayed on the roadway and served as
water supply to the brush trucks shuttling water in and out of the
scene. REMSI M-10 initially responded to the scene, and they were
relieved by Trauma 51. Pulaski responded with E-2, B-4, S-6, Car 12
along with Forestry E-50. 200' of 1 1/2" handline was used and well
as approximately 3000 gal. of water. No info was available from
Dublin or Draper FD's at the time of the publishing. All Pulaski
units were back in service at 1756 hours.

November 8, 2007
At 0840hrs, 16 firefighters
along with REMSI M-50 and Pulaski PD responded to the Floyd Ln. area
for report of a structure fire. First arriving units were met with
heavy smoke coming from the back of the 2 family dwelling. Crews
deployed a1 1/2" handline into the kitchen to find the fire had
about burned itself out. Crews did overhaul in the kitchen area and
checked for extension into the apartment on the opposite end. The
origin of the fire was limited to the kitchen area. Neighbors
pulled a burning air conditioner from the kitchen window prior to
fire department arrival. Personnel and equipment were back in
service by 1020hrs.

November 3, 2007
At 1440 hrs, 19 firefighters of
the fire department along with members of the Pulaski Co. Wildland
Fire Crew responded to the report of a mountain fire. At the time of
the alarm, it could not be determined the exact location of the
fire, so crews set out on the Caseknife Rd. section of the county
and another crew was sent to the Gatewood dam section of the county.
S-6 w/Lt. 5 found the fire and was met with fire conditions from the
side of the roadway up the side of the mountain. The department
remained on scene with B-4, E-1 & S-6 until more members of the
wildland crew could respond. Fire department units cleared the scene
and were back in service at 2107 hours. The DOF remained on scene
and then done mop up of the scene over the next few days. It was
estimated that approximately 30 acres had burned.

October 3, 2007
At 0030 hrs, 25 firefighters and 4
trucks responded to Blue & White cabs on N. Washington Ave. for a
reported structure fire. Upon arrival, 1st arriving unit reported
heavy smoke and fire coming through the roof. Mutual aid was called
for from Dublin and Draper Fire Depts. to assist. Dublin Fire Dept.
responded with 2 trucks and 8 firefighters and Draper Fire Dept.
responded with 2 trucks and 10 firefighters. REMSI Medic 50 and
Pulaski Police Department was also on scene to lend a hand. The Fire
Marshal's office determined the cause of the blaze was an electrical
short in the main disconnect. All fire department units were back in
service at 0512 hrs. There were no injuries reported. Photo's

September 9, 2007
At 2024 hrs, 24 firefighters
and 4 trucks along with REMSI Medic 50 responded to Crescent St.
in the Town of Pulaski for a structure fire. 1st arriving unit
was on scene within 2 minutes and reported a fully involved
structure. Fire department units were back in service at 2245

June 22, 2007
At 1408 hrs, 21 firefighters
and 3 trucks from Pulaski Fire Department and REMSI Medic 50
responded to Case Knife Rd. for a structure fire. 1st arriving
unit on scene reported a fully involved structure. Mutual aid
assistance was requested from Draper Volunteer Fire Dept. who
responded with 1 truck and 4 firefighters. Fire department units
were back in service at 1735 hrs. The structure was estimated a
total loss. No injuries were reported.

June 21, 2007
Pulaski Fire Department
responded to report of an MVA involving a scooter and a car with
fluid leaking on Magnox Dr. REMSI Medic 50 was already on scene
and requested FD to respond for gasoline spill. The scooter was
estimated a total loss. 1 person was injured in the mishap but
refused transport by EMS on scene.

June 18, 2007
At 1902 hrs, 21 firefighters
from PFD responded to a dumpster fire in the parking lot of an
area industry on Bob White Blvd. 1st arriving unit reported a
dumpster fully involved and requested a 2nd truck for water.
Nearby Newbern Volunteer Fire Dept. was doing a training
exercise and offered assistance with 2 trucks and 11
firefighters. Fire department units returned to service at 2024
hrs. REMSI Medic 50 also responded. No injuries were reported.

June 17, 2007
At 2112 hrs, 22 firefighters
and 4 pieces of equipment from PFD responded to Valley Rd. for
report of a possible structure fire. 1st Arriving unit was met
with heavy smoke conditions coming from the structure. Mutual
aid assistance was called for from Draper Volunteer Fire Dept.
who responded with 2 pieces of equipment and 8 firefighters to
help battle the blaze. REMSI Medic 50 and Pulaski PD was also on
scene to lend firefighters a hand. There was no one home at the
time of the fire and there were no injuries reported.
Firefighters were able to save one of the two dogs from inside
the house. Fire department units returned to service at 0135hrs.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under
investigation by the Fire Marshal.

April 19,2007
At 1601 hrs.,16 firefighters
of the Pulaski Fire Department along with REMSI Medic 50
responded to the top of Drapers Mountain for a reported car
fire. Upon arrival, units found fire and heavy smoke coming from
the engine compartment. There were no injuries reported. Units
cleared the scene at 1717 hrs.

April 19, 2007
At 0922 hrs., the Pulaski Fire
Dept. responded to the area of Medallion Dr. & Bob White Blvd.
for a gas leak. Upon arrival, it was found that public works had
hit a gas line and ruptured it. Units remained on scene until
the gas was shut off. Units cleared scene with no injuries.

April 18, 2007
At 2038 hrs, while crews were
on scene of a brush fire, the Pulaski Fire Dept. received a call
for a structure fire on Brookmont Rd. Fire dept. Unit 2 along
with REMSI Medic 50 responded. First arriving unit was met with
a fully involved house. Under the direction of Asst. Chief Jim
Ward, Unit 2 laid a 3" supply line to the scene and crews
quickly deployed a 1 3/4" and 1 1/2" handline to battle the
blaze. It took crews about 45 minutes to bring the fire under
control and approximately an 1 1/2 hour to extinguish hot spots
and overhaul the building. It was determined to be a vacant
house. The fire is under investigation by the Pulaski County
Sheriff's Office, and the PFD fire marshal.

April 18, 2007
At 2002 hrs, the fire
department responded to the area of Davis Hollow Rd. for a brush
fire. Upon arrival, found a control burn had gotten away from
the land owner. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to
extinguish the fire and any remaining hot spots. While on scene
of this fire, the department was alerted to a structure fire on
Brookmont Rd.

April 16, 2007
At 1840, 4 firefighters from
the department responded to area of Main St. & Washington Ave.
for an MVA. Firefighters cleaned up fluid leaks and debris and
were back in service at 1930 hrs.

April 15 & 16, 2007
Pulaski Fire Dept. as well as
the surrounding county departments were kept busy for at least 2
days due to high winds knocking trees into power lines, onto
peoples houses and various other wind related calls. At this
time, there was not known of any deaths or injuries related to
the wind problems.

April 15, 2007
At 1553 hours, 18 firefighters
of the department responded to Empire St. |
